Flock — The Day after

5 12 2005

What can I say, I haven’t been using it. Firefox has been my default browser for I don’t know how long now. Everytime I start flock, it asks me for my username/password for Del.icio.us and off I go. I hate getting prompted for that, and it is an annoyance for me.

Flock is built on Firefox 1.5, what I don’t understand is why the developers didn’t just build extensions for Firefox instead of building their own Browser. With that, I LOVE the wordpress plug-in for flock, and probably the only thing keeping me around, since I’m a wordpress junkie.

Only time will tell whether or not I’ll stick around for the long haul.

Firefox 1.5 — Official

I have to say I was a little leary in the beginning. I downloaded Firefox 1.5 when it was a beta, and then in RC1 and RC2. All 3 times never functioning correctly, only messing up my current install of Firefox 1.0.*. (Maybe I didn’t pay attention to directions when installing — I rarely read manuals)

But I can’t leave the leading edge (I’m not too much of a fan of the ‘bleeding’ edge) and decided to get 1.5 a couple of days after it was released. After I got 1.5, I got a few extensions and have been happy with it since.

I have noticed a few pages seem to render differently in 1.5 than they did in 1.0.*, but minor issues.

I’ve had no issues with instability, and overall like past versions. I’m happy!

Free Subscriptions ~50 pages/month or so.

Okay,
I’ve gotta go with it does have a KDE slant, yes it is all personal preference, and I was once in love with KDE, but I’ve gone to Gnome and it’s hard for me to go back.

Also, I wish it had more technical content.

It’s something to pass the time, and the possibility to learn something!
